Norka Luque is one of the musicians who come from great families. Despite having a good family background, she did not find herself in music by default. Norka had to work for it through thick and thin. Her musical life is full of experiences and life lessons that have shaped her into a socially responsible musician who uses her talent to make a positive impact on others.
Norka and music are inseparable. Norka is sure music is her destiny and she will live to cherish and enjoy every moment of it. Through hard work and determination, she is now reveling in success. Her albums are currently selling at a meteoric rate. Her label, NorkaMusic is becoming popular in Miami, a place where Beyonce, Rihanna and Jay Z carry the day. She is slowly but surely building a name and a brand for herself in Miami’s showbiz.
Talking about success, Norka is a role model to many upcoming musicians in Venezuela. Her popularity as a female artist in her home country is unmatched. Her tracks are rocking the clubs and screens in Venezuela. She was recently selected to perform alongside other high profile artists in Billboard’s most hyped show in Caracas.
But with success, there must be a system. One must begin somewhere and move step by step to the top. Like any other successful person, Norka started somewhere and worked her way to the top. She began singing at a tender age. Her parents were quite supportive. She was enrolled in ivy-league music training schools to hone her skills. In college, Norka Luque formed a band of three. She used to perform at events and nightclubs while studying for her business administration course. Despite many critics and setbacks, Norka trudged on in her musical journey. The more she engaged in music, the more she improved.
Her talent did not go unrecognized. One day, she received a call that put her life in a new trajectory. Emilio Estefan, a popular Venezuelan music producer and songwriter, wanted her in his team. Norka did not take this special opportunity lightly. She immediately agreed to the terms and joined Estefan. She produced several songs under his label. One of the tracks “Miracle” became a hit, topping the charts for 14 weeks continuously.
Norka is currently living in Miami, FL. She is working on a new album “Millando,” which is set to be released before the year ends.

Global Tel Link (GTL) has stirred a brawl with Securus Technologies, a leader in the provision of justice technology solutions, over a fresh round of allegations. With Global Tel Link (GTL) considering Securus Technologies as a rival in their field, it has thrown attacks in the way of Securus Technologies. The attacks are in the form of baseless and misleading press releases against Securus Technologies to try to discredit them.
In light of the attacks,Securus Technologies responded with their press releaseissuing corrections to the GTL press release. According to Securus Technologies, GTL’s press release is misleading at best and fraudulent at worse. Securus Technologies issued their press release correcting those misconceptions in GTL’s press release as well as providing facts and figures to back their claims.
The CEO of Securus Technologies, Richard A. Smith, was baffled by GTL’s approach. According to him, releasing misleading press releases is an immoral practice for a firm and uncalled for. Another baffling occurrence to Mr. Smith is GTL’s insistence on filling baseless patent litigation suits against Securus Technologies. According to him, the lawsuits are a liability and don’t serve in the firm’s best interest as they cost millions of dollars to pursue and would take many years in court.
Mr. Smith continued that Securus will fight back to defend themselves from the attacks. He claimed that it was vital for Securus to stand firm amidst the litigations while asserting their patents in response to the attacks. Mr. Smith pointed to Securus’s superiority in the industry by indicating their extensive patent portfolio. He went ahead to challenge GTL to a technology bake-off challenge as a constructive way to settle differences as opposed to issuing damaging press releases. GTL, however, are yet to respond to the challenge indicating fear they will lose.
Adam Goldenberg, the co-founder of JustFab was interviewed by VatorTV’s Bambi Francisco to talk about how his company got started, and he was asked about flash sales and pivot companies. On flash sales, Goldenberg said they were never a way that JustFab was going to operate because they did not match the strategy that the company was built on. And on pivoting, Adam Goldenberg mentioned other companies that changed their models and got rid of features as part of new trends, but Goldenberg said JustFab would never get rid of features such as VIP membership when their customers were happy with it. To Goldenberg, the key to staying successful is not fixing something that isn’t broken.
Adam Goldenberg has built quite a company at JustFab, a women’s clothing line with sister companies at Fabletics, FL2, Fabkids, and Fabmen. But he didn’t start out as a fashion guru. He actually started out as a gaming marketer, building a website called Gamer’s Alliance at age 15. Gaming enthusiasts loved it, and so did Intermix Media who Goldenberg sold the company to. Intermix Media even hired Ressler at only 18 to join their company, and he became the youngest Chief Operating Officer at age 20.
When NewsCorp bought out Intermix Media, Goldenberg and Ressler decided to start their own business, and Intelligent Beauty became their first enterprise on Zimbio. After trying different products, the two decided to go into women’s fashion and JustFab got started in 2010. Goldenberg wanted this company to be different than any other fashion company currently out there, so they decided to cut down on advertising costs and use social media as its marketing tool. The outfits they brought to the company were very stylish, but also affordable compared to the high prices at Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren.
Josh Hannah of Matrix Partners became interested in this company and helped raise venture capital, and later on Passport Capital also contributed at http://www.forbes.com/sites/tomiogeron/2011/09/21/former-intermix-coo-raises-33m-for-fashion-brand-justfabulous/. Model Kimora Lee Simmons came to the company, impressed with JustFab’s business, and brought millions of twitter followers to the company as well. More celebrities such as Kate Hudson and her brother Oliver also came on to help market it, and JustFab has grown in popularity in just 5 years. It recently was evaluated at over $1 billion.
